The Book and Paper Group enjoy using various paper art skills and techniques, including origami, paper collage, rusting, creating paste paper, marbling, and different dyeing techniques for card and bookmaking. These skills can be used to cover boxes, books, and slipcases.
The Book and Paper Group also makes traditionally bound books and various experimental Artist books.
The Book & Paper Group meets at Fibrecraft House on the second Monday of each month excluding January, beginning at 10 am and finishing in the mid-afternoon, (but some people come late or leave early).
At each meeting, we have a session of Show and Tell, and an activity of some sort (either bookmaking, paper decoration or manipulation). We also organise various collaborative projects throughout the year for our members.
All skill levels are welcome, from absolute beginners to more experienced crafters, and you are also welcome to come and watch.
