Fibre Arts Expo

We are excited to present the Fibre Arts Expo, an exhibition of our members’ finest works at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens Auditorium.

Held from 10 to 12 June, 9 am to 5 pm, the Fibre Arts Expo showcases work that is not only of the highest calibre in craftsmanship and technical ability, but which also speaks to the intricacy of expression, the intimacy of design, thoughtful communication, and visual excitement.

There will be a diverse range of traditional and contemporary fibre arts skills on display including Spinning, Weaving, Dyeing, Paper, Bookmaking, Basketry, Stitching, Knitting and Crochet.

Come and meet the Rolling Possum’s bunyip!

Judged by a panel of experts, entries will be evaluated on concept, design, and technique. Visitors are also invited to choose their favourite to win the Viewer’s Choice Award.

Attend Fibre Arts Expo for an eye-opening view of the creating process with demonstrators scheduled for each day.

The art gallery experience is also complemented by an on-site Gallery Shop, the perfect place to pick up handmade warm winter garments and accessories.

Finally, relax in the Café with a cuppa and delicious hot lunch or sweet treat.

The Queensland Spinners Weavers & Fibre Artists group are all-inclusive, welcoming all backgrounds and skill levels from beginners to experienced. They look forward to meeting you at the Fibre Arts Expo.

Entry is $5 and includes a raffle ticket. Children receive FREE entry.

The Exhibition Opening is on Friday 10 June at 6.30 pm.
